Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025 – Hypercar heaven
Each summer, the grounds of Goodwood House transform into a paradise for automotive enthusiasts, as a remarkable selection of rare and special cars gathers for the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
This year was no exception. As a truly dynamic event, the FoS engages all the senses – you see, hear, and even smell the cars charging up the legendary Goodwood driveway, better known as the Hillclimb. In 2025, the spotlight fell on the Koenigsegg Jesko Sadairs Spear, which claimed a new record time.
British finesse meets rare icons
Among my personal highlights were the ’90s homologation specials, which appeared in impressive numbers this year. From several McLaren F1s celebrating Gordon Murray’s 60 years in design, to Lanzante’s road-converted 996 Evo, the lineup was stunning. Lanzante also unveiled their first self-developed hypercar – the 95-59 – a modern three-seater reinterpretation of the iconic F1. And if that wasn’t enough, the event was swarming with T.50s, proof that modern tributes to legends are alive and well.
Pro tip: never skip the car parks – you’ll be surprised what treasures are hiding there.
Hypercars in full force
The Supercar Paddock overflowed with the latest and greatest. From the dynamic debut of the Ferrari F80 to a road-legal Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, there was something for everyone. Even Dua Lipa’s Rennstall 992 GT3 RS made an appearance on the hill.
Photography
Capturing the action at FoS is always a challenge. While panning shots of cars flying up the hillclimb are often the easiest way to get dynamic images, I also made a point of photographing the static displays. This year I experimented with long exposures and unusual angles – and was rewarded with some unique shots.
